Foster
Play a part in getting a horse that much closer to their forever home
If you are unable to consider horse adoption, but would like to open your heart and home to a horse in need, consider becoming a foster parent. We have limited space at our facilities and foster homes allow us to open our program to more horses in need.
Most of our foster horses are either waiting for their turn in our training program or have already completed their training and are looking for horse adoption by their forever homes. This means that they have had all of their groundwork done, including haltering, leading, standing, and trailering.
We do ask that our foster families commit to caring for the horse for one year and cover the cost of basic care, including food, shelter, farrier, and worming. People Helping Horses will pay for annual vaccinations, dental work, and any major medical needs that may arise during the fostering period.
Once approved, PHH will match you with the most appropriate horse.
If interested, please contact us.
A volunteer will contact you to discuss fostering, after which a barn inspection will be completed.
