Sunshine

Breed:
Quarter Horse
Color:
Palomino

Sunshine is one of eight horses that were abandoned and left to fend for themselves in Skagit county. We were able to work on Sunshine’s ground manners before she gave birth to her darling little colt Ray. After spending a substantial amount of time with Ray and then recovering health-wise from multiple pregnancies and the damage they had done to her older body, Sunshine was put into training. Having never been ridden in her life, her progress was slow but steady until we were forced to pull her from the program due to financial reasons. She’s currently enjoying life on the pasture until we can afford to put her back into training.

June 2011 Update:

Sunshine will be spending the summer out on pasture not far from the People Helping Horse’s facility.  She is continuing to become more accepting and trusting with people, and we are looking forward to the time when a position in the training program becomes available for her to continue with her training!
