Lacey is a Quarter Horse mare that came to PHH through Skagit County Animal Control in September 2009. She was reportedly green broke, but her fear and sensitivity makes it very clear that more harm was done than good when it came to her training.
Lacey almost immediately went into full training and much work was done in order to build her confidence and gain her trust. This little mare has made tremendous progress and we could not be more proud of the horse she has become!

March 2011 Update:

Lacey has had an outstanding couple of months!  After taking our time getting her comfortable with ground work, Lacey moved on to working under saddle at the beginning of February.  In just 2 weeks she was performing walk/trot/canter under saddle in the arena!  Patience and understanding are still key at this point in time when working with Lacey, but we could not be more proud of her.  We like for newly started horses to receive at least 90 days of training under saddle with us before placing them.  Lacey is approaching this point, and we are starting to consider potential homes for her, please contact us if you are interested in adopting.
June 2011 Update:

Lacey has spent the last 60 days in professional training polishing off her under-saddle skills.  She will be returning to the facility the beginning of next month where she will re-enter the training program while she waits to find her new home.  Lacey is available for adoption and is ready and waiting to find her new forever home!
