A black grade mare with tons of potential, Raven arrived at PHH in January 2008, one of 20 horses seized from a King County property. She’s in training with Meghan Valenti and is progressing quickly. Best we can tell she has been ridden but it seems she has had some bad experiences under saddle. Megan is helping Raven work through her worries. 12/23/08 update: Raven has some trust issues as did several of the horses she came in with. She is learning to deal with this issue thanks to Meghan’s expert training, but she’ll need a home that will give her a little time to adjust. Meghan has been working on Raven’s confidence level and the two are trying out jumping which Raven seems to thoroughly enjoy! 1/22/09 update: Raven has completed her confidence training with Meghan and is now working on Dressage with highly skilled trainer Andrea Lucianna. She’s coming along well and Andrea has been very pleased with her progress.
Update April 2009:
Raven has been adopted! She has gone to live wth a wonderful family in Gig Harbor and be the primary horse for their 12 year old daughter.
