Sid is one of the eight wild horses captured in February 2009. Hesitant and extremely introverted, this beautiful gelding began to slowly come around with the help of our trainer and Dr. Susan Seelye. He’s made an amazing amount of progress in the time that he has been with us. But it was clear to all that he was not ready for riding and the decision was made to let him go out to pasture where he could relax and simply be a horse. He’s a special horse who is looking for just the right person to open up to. Could that be you? While he won’t be ready to leave PHH until he’s safe under saddle, if you’re interested in Sid, please talk to our staff about sponsorship options.
March 2011 Update:
Sid is continuing with his training with the overall goal of building his confidence and building his strength and balance. He is continuing to progress and is becoming more trusting and willing to learn. With all of the attention and training his personality is really starting to shine through. Currently Sid is working on ground work (lungeing, ground-driving, natural horsemanship), although he is not yet under saddle, he is carrying a saddle and working with a bit/bridle, so he is not far away from the next phase of the training process – under saddle! People Helping Horses likes for newly started horses to receive at least 90 days of training under saddle with us before placing them. However, we will start to consider potential homes now so contact us if you are interested.
