Baylee

Permanent Resident
Breed:
Thoroughbred
Color:
Bay

Baylee was seized by local Animal Control officers after a horse was found dead on the property – it was discovered that Baylee had been abandoned in a round pen with no food or reliable water source for over three months. This sweet, quiet mare has worked with our trainers periodically during her time at PHH, each time ending the same way: an unknown lameness issue. Many tests have been run in an attempt to discover the cause, but to no avail. Our vet assures us that Baylee is not in pain when not being ridden, so we have decided to take her out of training and let her rest until such time that we can afford the more costly diagnostics that we hope will pinpoint the problem!

June 2011 Update:

Due to the nature of the physical injuries Baylee sustained before coming to People Helping Horses, she is not suitable to be a riding horse.  She is fortunate enough to have a forever home at People Helping Horses where she can happily spend her time out on pasture with a family of horses.  This sweet and affectionate girl is looking for a caring sponsor to help support the cost of her “retirement”.
