Tara is a 21 year old chestnut Arabian mare. She is 14.2 hands. She has been ridden English and Western and is said to have had a very successful show career in her prime. She has been ridden by children most of her life, but gets along with everyone young and old. Even though she is 21, she thinks that she is still 6! In the past seven years, she has not left the side her companion “Tela”, as they shared the same pasture and never left the property. Tela was brought into our care, and is now living a great life in Indiana with her new friends and family. Tara adjusted well and quickly became a favorite at People Helping Horses. She was able to be ridden by even the youngest rider and was eager to please. We’re happy to report that she is doing well in her new home in Anacortes. Tony, her new owner, proudly tells us that he rides her into town every morning for his coffee. It was recently discovered that she is blind in one eye, which is further testament to this sweet girl’s willing and gentle spirit. Congratulations Tony and Tara!
