Zephyr

Success Story
Breed:
Thoroughbred
Color:
Grey

Zephyr was one of the first lesson horses in the Leg Up For Kids Therapeutic Riding program.  His background also includes, racing,  hunter/jumper lesson horse, and some western pleasure riding.  Zephyr is looking to find his new forever home.

June 2011 Update:

After spending the past couple of months in an exceptional foster home, Zephyr is back at the People Helping Horses facility.  He is currently available for adoption, and will be participating in the training program until he can find his new forever home!

July 2011  Update From Zephyr’s New Family:

Zephyr seems to be doing great; he is very mellow and seems to go with the flow in every situation he’s been introduced to.  Wednesday, he had his first full bath at the barn.  He did really well.  For entertainment, he spent much of the time trying to untie himself from the hitching post.  It was pretty cute.

We are hoping to start lessons with him next week.  He is very patient under-saddle, but his favorite part of the riding session seems to be rolling in the arena sand after he’s un-tacked.

We have been going to see Zephyr at the barn daily (sometimes twice a day).  He loves treats–carrots without tops and apple slices seem to be his favorite.  He also likes to be hugged and never moves until we are finished.  I think that might be the human equivalent of not letting go until the other person does.  He is such a sweetheart.  We really love that guy!

Thank you for everything,

Sabrina and Whisper Grimes
