A flashy Arab gelding with plenty of spirit to match, Boukra is currently in training with Theresa Vandre. He can be ridden but needs to work on relaxing under the saddle.

A personable bay mare, Baylee came to PHH early in 2008 as part of a seizure. She had been left in a round pen with no food and dirty water for at least 3 months and resorted to eating the wood of the round pen to struggle to live. She was seized after another horse had been found starved to death in a ditch nearby.

Ginger is a sweet two-year-old Thoroughbred mare that we're giving time to grow up. We continue to work with her on her ground manners and are building her trust of people.
Update 7/22/09: Ginger is now three years old and started training with Meghan Valenti the first of this month. Ginger has received quite a bit of ground work as she was pretty flighty at first. She wore a saddle for the first time yesterday and only let out two bucks before settling in. We like for newly started horses to receive at least 90 days of training under saddle with us before placing them. However, we will start to consider potential homes now so contact us if you are interested.
Update June 2010: Ginger got about a month under saddle last year before we had to pull her from training, no fault of her own. Mores...
Mary Ann is a sweet two-year-old Thoroughbred mare that was started in our Ken McNabb clinic in October. We are working with her on ground manners and are very impressed with her calm, kind spirit.

Found at a trail head in Skagit County by people out for a trail ride, Lucky and a gelding were taken in by the county who then asked PHH to step in. Lucky, a chestnut Thoroughbred, had been shot in the head above her right eye. Mores...
Sapphire is a Tennessee Walking Horse that came to us as an owner surrender. A family situation prevented the owner from spending as much time with her as he knew was needed and was not financially able to provide her with the training she needed.

One of two wild stallions rounded up in Concrete, Washington in early 2009, Bo is a beautiful--and now gelded--horse that is currently in training with Kyle Churchill. Bo is curious about people and appears to have a fairly easy temperament.

Lacey is a 6-7 year old quarter horse type mare that came to PHH
through Skagit County Animal Control in September 2009. When the
county seized her she could not be touched and wanted nothing to do with people.

Cody is a 7 year old Arabian gelding that came to PHH from a woman who is terminal with cancer and quickly losing the battle. He has not been started under saddle so we are currently working on some ground work to prepare him to be started under saddle soon.
Mocha is a 4 year old paint mare that PHH acquired with plans to start a children's riding program. That program morphed into Therapeutic Riding and while Mocha is a great horse she did not quite have the temperament required to give that type of lesson. Mocha has 18 months of professional training including cow work!
